Inside a garden, in a small area of 16 m2 that was previously used for a clothesline, we were commissioned to build a nutritionist office.
Since we wanted to create a generous space but the area was very small, we decided to propose a volume that extends in height. The consultation room expands into a large dome. On the roof a new drying area is created, that is accessed by a small spiral staircase. With this operation we superimpose two programs that differ from each other (one designed for the public, the other to attend to the domestic), so that they coexist in symbiosis. The small volume contains a dressing room and a bathroom in addition to the consultation room. To avoid direct views of the existing house, an almost blind main façade with small strategic openings is proposed. And a side façade that generously opens to the existing vegetation. Finally, the large dome that allows observing the sky, bathes the main space with overhead light.
The exterior mortar rendering with pink pigment makes the office identifiable among other garden constructions and works as a backdrop for the green of the plants. The finishing is simple, paint, wood, tile. All materials share the same color palette creating a chromatic atmosphere that envelops patients.
